Insurance Information

MHM Urgent Care accepts most major insurances. As a designated urgent care practice, a referral from your primary care physician is not necessary. Pre-authorizations from your insurance company are also unnecessary. Pay only your standard co-pay.

MHM will file an insurance claim for your urgent care visit with all contracted plans. Insurance co-payments and deductibles are collected at the time of service and are payable via cash and most major credit cards. You may contact the MHM Urgent Care center you plan to visit in order to verify insurance coverage and confirm accepted methods of payment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find the answers to your frequently asked questions below. Can’t find what you’re looking for? We’re just a phone call or e-mail away.

How is an urgent care practice different from my primary doctor’s office?

An urgent care practice can supplement the services your primary doctor can provide, from extended office hours and short wait times to a more comprehensive suite of services available on-site than in most primary doctor’s offices. While your primary doctor cares for multiple chronic medical issues, we treat the problems facing you today. This allows us to treat you expediently without the wait. Also, for the cases where your primary physician would have to send you to an ER for something non-life-threatening, urgent care can take out much of the waiting and expense.

Do I need an appointment?

An appointment is not necessary. Patients are seen on a “walk-in” basis.

Are you on my insurance?

Our centers contract with most Louisiana PPO Plans and Commercial Insurance Plans – but not all. Patients are invited to call to verify their insurance.

Do I need insurance?

No. Private pay patients are welcome at our clinic and will appreciate the cost savings we offer compared to an emergency room visit. Keep in mind payment is required upon receipt of services.

How long will I have to wait?

Typically, our wait time is less than 30 minutes, significantly shorter than most hospital emergency departments. Most of patients walk out of our front door less than one hour from when they walked in.

Can MHM Urgent Care handle my health concern?

We are able to successfully diagnose and treat more than 95% of patients who visit our centers. Those patients with more extensive injury or illness are referred to a specialist or emergency department.
